Aging like Fine Wine….

Good morning my lovely readers, I hope you’re having a wonderful mornin!

Well…guess what? One of my best friends turned 30 this year, and it got me thinking — not just about her milestone, but about how weird it is to age in a world that worships youth.

We’re constantly told to stay young, fresh, tight, glowing — as if life should look like a filtered Instagram story instead of a full, unedited novel. And don’t get me wrong, no one’s mad at you for getting a little work done (snatched is snatched — do you). But somewhere along the line, we forgot that aging isn’t a curse — it’s a gift.

It’s normal to feel caught up in the highlight reels of others. The perfect timelines. The marriages, the babies, the million-dollar promotions. You start wondering, Am I behind? Am I enough? But then, if you’re lucky, your real friends show up — the ones who remind you who you are and who you’re still becoming.

I’m grateful for my friends who slap me back to reality (lovingly, of course), because if they didn’t, I’d probably be walking around looking like Handsome Squidward, lips first, soul lost.

Aging isn’t about decay — it’s about depth. It’s about shedding old skin and outdated expectations. It’s about waking up and realizing that life isn’t linear, and that growth isn’t always glamorous — sometimes it’s ugly crying on a Tuesday and crawling out of rock bottom in yesterday’s makeup.

But here’s the kicker: you do crawl out. Maybe not gracefully. Maybe not quickly. But you do. And one day, you look around and think, Damn. I made it through that? And then you keep going.

So here’s to aging. To friends who keep us grounded. To the chaos, the clarity, and the collagen loss. We may not be where we thought we’d be, but we’re still here — still evolving, still laughing, still showing up.

Celebrate you. Celebrate your life. And celebrate the people around you.

Cheers.

Xoxo,

Victoria
